借用原po的翻譯,我覺得這篇翻的很好,信達雅兼具。
其實尼爾在上市前後的發言,不管是接受訪談還是社交網站上的po文,都給人一種很傲
慢的感覺。簡單說就是你們批評的人,都是不懂我們的價值,感受不到我們的創意與苦
心。
這段話當然只是在評論那些比較偏激,而去攻擊甚至恐嚇演員的網友。但尼爾這則訪談
中一樣是在展現我講的那種傲慢。
他企圖把自己塑造成悲劇英雄,這話可以是講給玩家聽,也可能是講給他老闆聽,講給
董事會(如果有的話?)的股東聽:他想講的是什麼呢?
從另外一個角度來思考,其實就是"我們做這遊戲是時代創舉,所有的批評我們會概括承
受。但除非這些反對的聲音可能危及製作人員的安全,不然我們不打算正面回應。蓋先
知總是寂寞的,不見容於當代的主流價值是很正常的。"而
這裡的發言和ND本人以及ND公司這段時間在社群網站上那些看似開玩笑的po文對照著看
,其實就完全互相呼應。也就是說他們根本無意認真看待玩家的感受,他們做出來的東
西,自己覺得是好東西,那就是好東西。
其實某種程度上我還蠻欣賞他的這種狂妄,敢於跟消費者的輿論對幹,搞得不好可能危
及自己的飯碗,就算很有抱負很有想法的人都不見得願意這麼做。這次最後生還者2的銷
量依舊亮眼,看起來他們現在的狂妄是有鈔票在背後撐腰,或者也可以說,他們是在燃
燒著自大的火焰,燃料是過去累積下來的商譽。但下一部作品呢?頑皮狗還能這麼信心
滿滿嗎?一切都看消費者了。
其實要展現你的"進步價值"也好、"新觀點"也罷,跟照顧玩家的情感是完全沒有衝突的。最簡單的方法就是多重結局,或者選擇殺與不殺。
或許不用像底特律那樣有幾十種不一樣的結局,但簡單來說,就是你要給玩家選擇,這是一種尊重,尊重玩家的感情。如果頑皮狗能給出多重選擇的玩法,不僅是照顧了玩家的感受,說不定玩家還會熱烈討論比較原結局和其他結局,頑皮狗可以得到很正面的回饋。
可惜的是這次依舊是以往的頑皮狗,一樣的一本道劇情,連一點點支線都沒有,就是完完全全的一路到底,遊戲性提高了,劇情的做法完全沒有改變。
