April 23, 2007 - Members of the press who have registered for this year's E3
are expecting formal invitations in the mail this week. Shacknews has
apparently received theirs and has been notified which publishers will be
attending the event. We knew this E3 would be much smaller than in years
past, but it appears the show has shed even more weight than we expected.
Last year over 400 companies were in attendance. This year: 32.
According to Shacknews, the full list of publishers, developers, and
manufacturers reads:

The list is made up mostly of major publishers, while Foundation 9 and id
Software are both independent developers. And whereas previous E3s showcased
hundreds of game accessories every year, Nyko and Logitech will be the only
manufacturers hyping their wares this July. This year's event is
invitation-only, and attendees are expected to number 3,000-4,000. Last yaer
60,000 people crowded into the Los Angeles Convention Center and 70,000 in
2005.
