情報 WiiTDB未來遊戲都會有中文標題 - 改機

相信很多人有用過USB LOADER GX吧

當中有一個下載遊戲資訊的功能(包含封面、分級、說明...等)

是從WiiTDB的下載回來的資訊包裝成.zip檔來的
（zip檔中其實是個.xml檔）

那我們遊戲的名稱顯示就是從.zip檔中去parse出來的

如果有人有跨區玩遊戲，會發現 美版遊戲標題無法顯示中文

這其實是因為WiiTDB開發者並不認為美版遊戲有需要有中文標題

wiiTDB的內容事實上是有點類似wii維基百科允許登入後去修改
但是我們無法在美版遊戲新增中文標題

所以資料庫僅有日版遊戲或中文版遊戲會有中文標題的選項
(所以下載回來的zip檔美版遊戲當然沒有中文標題)

因此無法顯示中文

所以我用我破破的英文寫信去給WiiTDB的聯絡人

內容如下：

Hi,
I am a WiiTDB user from Tw, and I have a question about this DB.
I found out that I can not update "title(ZH-tw)" information for some
(maybe all?) NTSC-U games because there is no textbox input for
"title(ZH-tw)". I wonder if it is for a special purpose or some
technique problems. If is possible, can WiiTDB allow adding
title(ZH-tw) to NTSC-U games?

Hi,

The titles are only available in the possible languages that can be
found in a game, or if it appears on the cover.
There are no NTSC-U games featuring or sold under a Traditional Chinese
title so it's not available.
The only exception is for NTSC-J games, because those games are also
sold in Taiwan as there are so few NTSC-T games.
If the title field was available for all languages, people would start
translating the titles in their language even if it was never officially
translated.

Hi,

I can understand what you're talking about.
Our nentendo commerical agent sucks...... they just simply translate game
names from Janpanese to Chinese and use the term "name for reference". (and
we don't have shopping channel......)
As you know there are very few NTSC-T game for Taiwanese, and we can only
buy about 30 NTSC-J games from our nentendo commerical agent.
so people in Taiwan usually buy games from outside the country(Japan or
US) because nentendo commerical agent didn't sell it.
Since our nentendo commerical agent didn't sell some games, why not play
NTSC-U games? (At least we can read english)This is what most people do in
Taiwan.

What I want to say is we have a requirement to play NTSC-U games, and
those game are sold in Taiwan too(not offically, but neither most NTSC-J).
Our nentendo commerical agent never officially translate game names, so I
believe same games in NTSC-U or NTSC-J should have same title(ZH-tw) in WiiTDB
Can WiiTDB allow NTSC-U games adding title(ZH-tw) and simply just add a
region code? For example : GameName(U) , GameName(J)

This is link of New super mario bros. and its title(ZH-tw) is using the
way I am talking about.

word (美) to represent NTSC-U

I was contacted by ice1006 from 91wii.com and it seems that it would benefit
many users so I'm glad to tell you Zh-tw and ZH-cn titles will probably be
added for all regions on WiiTDB very soon :)
