當年我還是個上尉(法國)，指揮著一小隊的斥候兵，從普魯士入侵的地方撤退。
我們受到了包圍、被追擊、吃盡苦頭。大雪好像要把我們活埋似的，士兵們都筋疲力盡。
「我們是很難得救的，除非奇蹟出現……」我心中想。
一個夜晚，斥候回傳前方聽到了說話的聲音，我派六名士兵去探看。
尖銳的叫聲劃破了大雪沈悶的寂靜。

奇蹟真的出現了，接下來的路途中，多虧奇蹟，士氣大振。
我們擊敗來襲的普魯士小隊、克服了寒冬，安然抵達法軍的陣地。
