今早，那對兄弟依舊是最後才到。
聚集在廣場的每個人開始跟著音樂做起早操。
我則是一如往常躲在樹蔭下，這麼熱的天氣，我才不在乎什麼健康操呢。
倒是那對兄弟很令我在意。
我今年11歲，那位哥哥隆一是小學3年級，而弟弟修二是2年級，兩人都比我小。
隆一的手腳不靈活，走起路來也一跛一跛的，大概是得了病吧。
修二就像是隆一的守護者，時時陪在身旁。做操時修二也會溫柔地幫忙並輕聲地鼓勵隆一
「修二，晚上你也來參加吧！」
早操結束後，數名男生討論起鬼屋探險。
這社區有一棟爬滿藤蔓的鐵鏽古宅，很久以前便謠傳裡面躲著會把小孩子吃得一乾二淨
的駭人怪物。也因此，那棟房子成了小學生們熱門的試膽場所之一。
「恩。好啊，哥哥也一起來吧！」
因為在意著那對兄弟的特殊狀況，雖然對鬼屋探險什麼的不感興趣，但還是決定偷偷跟去
。當晚在探險前，聽到修二的小腿意外地被流浪犬咬傷，更確定自己應該來的。
