First, let me tell you this: XLink Kai is awesome. I used to use it way back
in the day — the early days of PSP-Hacks (see here and here) — and even
before that with the original Xbox. Anyway, setting up your PSP with XLink isn
’t nearly as complicated now. With some technical know-how and your ability
to follow Yuki-mi’s instructions, you should be able to get this up &
running with little or no problems at all.
Second, know this: If you go online with XLink Kai and act the fool —
pulling shenanigans, like cheating using some other plugin — you can and
will be banned permanently from the Kai network. The purpose of Yuki-mi’s
plugin is for users to enjoy XLink without the need for a wireless adaptor.
Third, what you need:
Windows XP 32-bit
(Vista or 7 64-bit may work, but trouble may ensue)
XLink Kai 7.4 [download]
WinPcap [download]
Microsoft Loopback Adaptor [instructions]
PSP Type B USB Driver
(Download below)
CFW-enabled PSP
(Tested on 5.03 GEN-C & 5.50 GEN-D3/Prometheus)
Ad Hoc to USB CFW Plugin
(Download below)
USB cable connecting PSP to PC.
Take a gander at the included “Ad Hoc to USB” read me for installation
instructions. I also encourage you check the source link for additional info
and some end-user test results.
Note: This plugin is not compatible with other USB-driven plugins; i.e.)
USBHostFS, RemoteJoy, etc…
