◆Edge Cuts

The squares are drawn on a sheet of paper as shown in the first figure. Your
task is to cut the edges of the squares. What is the maximum number of edges
that can be cut without having the sheet separated into two or more pieces?

As an example, 24 edge cuts are shown in the second figure.

圖左的紙上畫了如圖這樣的方格。你可以沿著方格的邊線剪開。
試問在不將紙剪成兩片或更多片的前提下最多可以剪開幾個方格邊？

例如若剪開如圖右的粗線部份，則一共剪開了 24 個方格邊。
